Dag Wirén prize in international piano competition in Orléans

Anne-Cécile Rouillier, vinnare av tävlingen

In Orléans, France, an international piano competition in contemporary music is organised for young pianists. In April 2015 there was for the first time a possibility to get a prize for the best performance of piano music by Dag Wirén. The foundation has started a co-operation with this competition. A handfull young pianists were competing for the prize and the winner was 16 year old Anne-Cécile Rouillier from Blois, France. She played Adagio and Presto from opus 35.  She also performed Dag Wirén at a concert in Paris on June 20 that was organised for winning pianists.

The organiser of the competition , Mme Thinat, was very satisfied with the participating pianists this year. According to her the level has never before been so high. The president of the jury, Mr Runtz, is himself organising a similar piano competition in Switzerland every two years. He got interested in including Dag Wirén also in his competition so discussions have started about this.

The Dag Wirén Foundation has declared to the competition in Orléans that it is willing to continue its participation. There will thus probably be good reasons to come back to this issue
