The music of Dag Wirén goes to Spain

Within the frame of the network ENUO (European Network of University Orchestras) a chamber music project has been established between the symphony orchestra of Uppsala University, The Royal Academic Orchestra, and the symphony orchestra of the Granada University. The project has been heavily delayed due to the pandemic but will now take place. On a project basis a string quartet has been formed by members from the two symphony orchestras. This string quartet will perform String Quartet no 3 by Dag Wirén and music by Haydn and Joauin Turina. Concerts will be arranged in Sigtuna and Uppsala in Sweden and in Granada, Spain.

The project has been made possible thanks to support from the Uppsala University/Musicum and the Dag Wirén Foundation. Driving force for the project has been Stefan Karpe, Director Musices at the Uppsala University.

The following concerts will be arranged:
Friday, May 27 at 18.00 in Mariakyrkan, Sigtuna, Sweden
Saturday, May 28 at 15.00  in Musicum Uppsala University, Sweden
Thursday, June 2 at 20.00 in Espacio V Centenario, Granda University, Spain
